About us

AKBAR BARKAT FOUNDATION was registered under companies ordinance 1984 in 2012 as a NON PROFIT FOUNDATION to help the needy in the fields of HEALTH and EDUCATION and PUBLIC WELFARE.
It is in the living memory of my late father MALIK MUHAMMAD AKBAR and mother BARKAT BIBI.
Both lived in Ahluwala village near Changa Manga in District Kasur. It is about 70 km. From Lahore, 1-1/2 hours drive from lahore.
Changa Manga is known for biggest man made jungle in Pakistan. Silk worms and Turmeric (haldi) are business attractions here, with A Lunar Lake IN jungle, It Is A Tourist attraction.
My late father and mother were great philanthropists. We intend to keep their mission alive. With 5 sons and 2 daughters, some settled in Ahluwala, some in Lahore and others in USA, the good intentions are to return back to the soil where we were born by serving the poor and needy, for those who cannot afford health treatment or education costs.
Our Zakat fund that used to be distributed elsewhere is being channeled to run a full fledged AKBAR BARKAT DISPENSARY at Ahluwala. A qualified Doctor attends patients and poor and needy are given free medicines.
SCHOLARSHIP scheme helps poor Needy and deserving students to continue their studies in the medical and Engineering fields.Alhamdo lillah a full 4 year scholarship is awarded to Waziristan student in UNIVERSITY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY LAHORE.
In ALLAMA IQBAL MEDICAL COLLEGE a female first year student is being paid the tuition fee.
Kids in lower classes are being paid school fees with books and school uniform expense.
QARZ E HASNA Scheme helps small business owners to help establish business and Start family income.Alhamdulillah the return rate is satisfactory.
Presently we are funding ABF, a charity setup from family resources only.
